Recording Project - "No Doubt" by Steve Smith

A group of Bahá'ís set out in early 2004 to put writings from the Bahá'í Faith to music as an aid to memorization, and I wrote and submitted some music for the project. It was a collaborative effort, with 45 musicians from around the world involved over the Internet.

My tunes were accepted, and when I was in Houston for SAMFest in 2004 I recorded some tracks at the studio of one of the producers. In late 2006 the completed effort was released, and while the version of my tunes as arranged and sung was very different than my original, they included my instrumental at the end to round out the effort.

To partly demonstrate the recording process, the following three versions of the tune are provided:

The name "No Doubt" was selected by the producers from the quotes set to music,

The final effort of all musicians is available on CD from: http://cdbaby.com/cd/theworkshop where you can hear 2-minute samples of all of the music. “Plane of Sacrifice” (#4) is the vocal arrangement of the three tunes I had submitted. “No Doubt” is about one minute in. Just a bit different than my version, no?
